Malaysian authorities have issued penalty orders against the illicit bingo supplier Luxurybingods.
The Dutch gaming authority known as the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has issued two penalty orders against the owner of the social media account Luxurybingods for providing bingo services and advertising bingo in the country without a licence.
Luxurybingods is subject to two distinct penalties, which are imposed by the Dutch licensee. For the purpose of organising bingo games, it will be required to pay a minimum of €19,000 (£15,839/$21,158) every game, with a maximum of €190,000. With regard to advertisements, the fine is set at €9,500 for each advertisement, with a maximum of €95,000 being imposed.
Businesses that have been in operation for a minimum of three years are the only ones that are permitted to offer small games of chance like bingo.
Among the additional requirements for bingo is the requirement that the top prizes must be between €400 and €1,550, and there is a complete prohibition on advertising bingo. Each and every game of chance that is advertised in the Netherlands is subject to this prohibition.
Multiple violations have been reported against LuxuryBingods.
Following an examination by the KSA, many violations of Dutch law were discovered. Managers discovered that Luxurybingods was conducting bingo operations in violation of the law during a visit to the Harbour Club in Eindhoven in the month of March.
Ticket prices for bingo games were set at €65 a ticket, and the highest prizes were significantly more than the legal maximum that could be awarded. A further observation made by KSA was that bingo was being staged for the benefit of Luxurybingods.
Officers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also found out that the games offered by Luxurybingods were being advertised "extensively" on the social media network TikTok.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) stated in its verdict that it has taken action because the likelihood of a repeat is "high." Luxurybingods has been accused of organising unlawful bingo games at various locations in the past, according to the regulatory body. Additionally, the company's Instagram account has been active and advertising its games since the year 2022.
A reprimand has already been issued to the organisation by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), according to the regulator. It is not possible for the individual in question to continue to organise bingo games of this nature because of the penalty payment order that has been imposed.
